Alan J. Imhoff,  President, IMNG

Catherine Cooper Nellist, Managing Editor, Pediatric News, has nearly 30 years of experience reporting, writing, and editing stories about clinical medicine and the U.S. health care industry. Prior to taking the helm of the award-winning Pediatric News, FCatherine covered major medical research meetings throughout the United States and Canada, and had been managing editor of Clinical Psychiatry News and Skin & Allergy News. She also edits Ob.Gyn. News. She joined IMNG/Elsevier in 1984 after graduating magna cum laude from Dickinson College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.

Therese Borden, Web Content Editor, has worked for Elsevier for over 20 years in a variety of editorial positions. She is a graduate of the University of Washington, Seattle (BA) and The American University, Washington, D.C. (Ph.D. in International Relations). She began her work at IMNG as a copy editor, and then moved on to the position of Associate Editor for Clinical Psychiatry News. She has been working as a web content editor since 2010.

Lorinda Bullock, Web Content Team Lead, joined Elsevier in 2007 as an associate editor for the Elsevier Global Medical News wire service. She has worked as a reporter for numerous magazines and newspapers, including the Detroit Free Press and The Clarion-Ledger. She also served as a national correspondent for the National Newspaper Publishers Association's news wire. She holds a BA in journalism from the School of Communications at Howard University. Teresa Burton, Web Content Editor, has worked for Elsevier for more than 10 years.

 

Steve Cimino, Web Content Editor, joined Elsevier in 2011 after several years as a Web editor in Boston. He graduated from Boston University in May 2008 with a BS in Journalism. Doug BrunkDoug Brunk is an award-winning reporter who has been covering health care since 1991. Before joining IMNG/Elsevier, he wrote for the health sciences division of Columbia University and was on the editorial staff at Contemporary Long Term Care magazine when it won a Jesse H. Neal Award. He has a master’s in magazine journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. Doug is based in San Diego.

Frances Correa is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in mass communications. She joined IMNG in 2011, after serving as editor for Patch.com in Germantown, Md. Bruce Jancin has brought the readers of IMNG/Elsevier publications’ news of the major medical developments for more than 30 years. Bruce covers medical research and continuing education meetings around the world and is based in Denver.

Diana MahoneyDiana Mahoney joined IMNG/Elsevier’s New England bureau in 2002 after stints as a technical and science writer for the Lahey Clinic and TERC, an MIT-affiliated R&D group. She also served as associate editor and senior technology editor/writer at Computer Graphics World magazine focusing on medical and scientific imaging and visualization. Her journalism degree is from Boston University.

Damian McNamaraDamian McNamara reports on the latest medical advances as the Miami bureau chief for IMNG/Elsevier. Damian files video reports, blog updates, and podcasts from physician conferences around the United States and internationally. Follow him on Twitter @MedReporter.

Elizabeth MechatieElizabeth Mechcatie primarily covers the Food and Drug Administration for IMNG/Elsevier, reporting on new drugs, devices, and biologics. Heidi SpleteHeidi Splete has been a medical journalist for 10 years. In 2009, she received in depth training on the resources of the National Library of Medicine via a fellowship from the Association of Health Care Journalists. She reports on medical news across multimedia platforms for a range of specialties including pediatrics, ob.gyn, allergy/immunology, obesity, cancer, digestive diseases, surgery, and rheumatology. Michele SullivanMichele G. Sullivan has been a reporter and editor for more than 25 years. In her career, she has won 32 state and national awards for feature, news, and editorial writing and for newspaper design. As part of IMNG/Elsevier’s Mid-Atlantic bureau, she received the Journalism Fellowship Award from the American Academy of Neurology in 2007 and a Gold Triangle Award from the American Academy of Dermatology in 2010. 

Miriam_E TuckerMiriam E. Tucker has been a reporter for IMNG/Elsevier since 1986. She covers clinical medicine and public health, with particular expertise in diabetes and infectious disease. In 2009, Miriam was selected for an Association of Healthcare Journalists fellowship at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She is based in Washington. Mitchel L ZolerMitchel L. Zoler joined IMNG/Elsevier’s Philadelphia bureau in 1992 and covers dozens of medical research meetings around the world each year. Previously, he covered medicine and science for publications including Medical World News, Cardiology Times, Urology Times, Hospital Practice, and Science Digest. A fellowship through the American Association for the Advancement of Science landed him at Newsweek early in his career. Mitchel has a Ph.D. in microbiology and did post-doc work in virology. Mary Jo M. Dales, Editor in Chief, IMNG, began her 30-year career with the company as a reporter and went on to become the editor for various IMNG publications, including Skin & Allergy News, Family Practice News, and Hospitalist News. She was the founding editor of Rheumatology News, Cardiology News, Clinical Neurology News, and Clinical Endocrinology News and became the division's editorial director in 2002. Mary Jo has degrees in zoology and journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Denise Fulton, Executive Editor, IMNG, joined the company in 2000, editing Family Practice News and Skin & Allergy News prior to her current position. She covered health policy for a national advocacy group for 12 years and served as a staff member in the 100th Congress. Denise earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the Perley Isaac Reed School of Journalism at West Virginia University.

Kathy Scarbeck, Executive Editor, joined IMNG as a reporter in 1993 and was promoted to editor of Ob.Gyn. News in 1998. She became executive editor of Elsevier Global Medical News, a medical newswire service, in 2006. Kathy received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Notre Dame and a Master's of Arts degree in Journalism from Indiana University.
